What is a Trade Retrospective?
My "day job" is in tech and we work in develop in a system known broadly as Agile . In the agile process you work in what are known as sprints and at the end of each sprint you have a Retrospective in which you look back and what you’ve done and you recap the following:
- What went right?
- What went wrong?
- Group silmilar ideas and determine what needs attention
- Create action Items and assign them to be worked on
What I’m looking to do here is look back on my daily trading and take inventory of the good, the bad, and the ugly. The good I want to do more of and the bad I want to find sustainable ways to do less of.
You will not find any mention of my P/L. I’m not here to try and prove how much money I can make and I’ve also found that when I start to talk profits with people it starts to mess with my head and I begin to think I’m something that I’m not.
The entire goal is to get better and with that in mind I remove things that I find to be stumbling blocks to help focus on the things that will impact my performance.
