This ended up being a nice day. It’s always a nice feeling to have a green after after experiencing a chop fest red day. At first I thought I wasn’t going to be able to trade today because the higher ups at work scheduled a 8am CST meeting, but I found a way. I guess this officially makes me a market junky. I’m not sure this was a smart of a dumb move, but it’s a move I made.
After writing yesterdays review it was evident that I needed to focus a bit more on edge of entry to avoid the in/out that causes major chop. I think I did an OK job of that today, where I looked for more edge on my entries. With that being said I had a FANTASTIC read of VIAC and I COMPLETELY missed that trade on VIAC as well. I was eyeing that 93.50 level like a HAWK and didn’t pull the trigger and bam…a 5point move…I mean mean SERIOUSLY frustrating…lol. What this tells is is that when I see some edge, and it’s brewing in my mind I just have to go with it.
Everyday you come to the game and everyday there’s something that you can take away from it. I don’t think I’ve ever done this much reflection on a daily task ever. Considering I
have goals I’m going to keep pushing and keep reflecting because it is working for me.
One thing that I did do today that I wanted to note was that I added the “realized” p/l back on my positions window. I don’t want to see the unrealized, but today I felt like seeing the realized on my small chops helped keep things in perspective and managed my desired to just want to be in/out a bunch. I will continue to monitor how it affects my performance, but so far I liked how I behaved with only the realized exposed.
I had some really good reads on this one, and was really happy with how I played it with the exception of my first entry. I thought that I had my chart scrolled properly, but was looking at candles that were 10mins old. I placed and order thinking I was at a certain level, and my brain didn’t register that it was off, so I covered that and took some early chop, but then I played the clean levels and was able to really work this one nicely. I sized all the way out before the open and added 1/8th size at the 3.60 level and then came back and added on more size when it confirmed. In reality I should’ve covered around 3.62 and looked to re-enter and I’m a conflicted on how to feel about it since I didn’t take that cover. It was so jump I think I just got dear in the headlights. My original cover target for this was the 2.80s and I covered too early (what’s new). Once I start to cover some I really just have a hard time and end up covering it all a bit too fast. Overall happy with the trade, but definitely room to optimize. I co
A little late to the game, and I had a little chop near the key leve, but I’m ok with that given how it kept my head clear and allowed me to be in there for the main move. .
I had a good reado n this one and unfortunately just played the levels a weeeee bit too gith, so I ended up walking away with a McDonald’s kids meal and missed out on a near .50 move. The goal was vs 30 and I should’ve kept room for a 30 test and failed from there. Good read, but I need to clean up my exit criteria when I have set levesl in mine
I somehow managed to go a bit red on this after locking in some on the initial fade (took too long to cover (which reminds me I need to setup a hot key for a break even cover order so I don’t manually get caught like this). The chop there was small and I was able to focus on the post exhaustion move and capture some of the reclaim.
I completely fumbled the 93.50 trade and I was going to completely leave this alone, but when I kept seeing 88 having a problem I decided to give it a little run on BBBAAAAABBBBBYYYY size vs 88 flat. Ended up capturing almost a point on it, but I can’t say this was the trade that I wanted. Happy for some green here, but I should’ve been a part of the big move.
