Green day repot. While I’m happy and grateful about being green on the day and have some nice trades I can’t say that I’m overly joyed about the way that I go there. This isn’t to say that the charts look miserable, but it is to say that I was too aggressive on the cover side on my main play RIOT, which I’ll talk about below. I was totally excited about this setup coming into the morning and actually went to sleep and woke up envisioning how I was going to enter the trade if it did xyz and how I would react.
I mostly followed my dread up visions on grandeur, however I fell short of seeing it all the way through.
I am however happy with my entries and how I’m trimming my positions when they don’t look like I want them. Ideally to fix this is to fix my entries, but in the seasons that things don’t align I definitely prefer this version of me….eager to knock off the position when things aren’t looking right.
A BIG takeaway is that when I have a big trade planned I need to see it through. Set my targets and stick to my guns until I get what I’m looking for or I stop out when it doesn’t do what i want…that simple.
I’m happy with the way I played this one. The overall trend was up and when I tried some on the failed follow through it decided to hold, so I covered and got the heck out of the way so it could do what it wanted. I probably could’ve gone long on that final cover and took some off up in the 60 range, but one thing at a time. The setup wasn’t screaming long to me, like it was for a possible short, so I didn’t try to long it. I want the setup to be clear as day to me and for now it’s hard to cover short and immediately go long. I’m sure I’ll adjust this over time, but for now I’m happy with the way i kept it in check and then came back in when it felt like it was going to make the g/r move again. The tape shifted at that key level and given how it was bouncing around before I wasn’t trying to stick around, so I covered up, took the win and moved on. Happy with it.
The trade of my dreams (literally) and I managed to be too aggressive on the covers. I left a solid $6 of range on the table…..I should’ve been adding on the 70.47 retest and covering down in the low 60s’. I guess this is just part of the learning process and the whole “screen time” thing. As I continue to grow I will maximize these more, but man….sheesh. I think I could’ve done a much better job of my initial entries as well. I had SUPER tiny size and really given my new strategy I should’ve covered it all QUICK and got back in around the 76 level, so clearly I have room to improve on my setups that I’m excited about.
