11/9/2020 – Retrospective

Green Day recap. Man, what a day. I still feel like I’m starting to find my stride and I started off the day “ok” and then quickly found myself a little upside down on $CCL. Over time I’m learning a bit more about who I am as a trader and the things that just don’t work for me and today helped solidify the idea that I’m just not a great frontside trader (yet). What I’m not is a split second headline trader. There are guys that can absolutely crush that, but I’m not one of them. What I am is a trend joining guy and I need to respect that. This doesn’t mean that I can’t try these other setups, but to me it does mean that I should use minimal size when trying to play those things. because I was trying to do too much too soon. I think I just got hit with a case of the Mondays.

CC

Ended up red on this name. This was an absolutely incredible setup and I managed to mess it up by adding too much size on my second entry because I was too worried about the little paper cut I got on my first entry. In hindsight it’s silly that this even needs to be address, but the reality is that this happened and it managed to be me decently red on the day vs my expectations. Had I been more patient I would’ve been able to nail this pull back. Moral of the story is to not try to be the top finding hero…let it confirm then join.

ACB

Green here, but honestly i made an absolute mess of this one. In Premarket I missed 2 opportunities to lock in a 1pt move, so pretty weak there. I told myself to not be too greedy and guess what I was….too greedy. Then off the open my platform was having crazy data lag in the L2. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it before. The offers were often like .25 under the bids and it was really messing with my head in terms of comfortability. I ended up adding a bit too low, which kept me from the 14+ add (the real ideal entry) and then from there it was just extremely tough to trade because the data was all over the place. I had a general feel for where it was going to go, but it was just really messing with me, so I wasn’t able to really work the trade like I wanted. I was able to capture a little over a 1pt move, but I have to say that data situation exhausted me mentally. There were definitely tings I could’ve done better to help my position, so no excuses. If you look at the chart this was a picture perfect “look” left scenario.
