No trades today, so I’m flat and cash, however I feel the need to come in and talk about the day because looking over my watchlist in my platform that I did the night before ( didn’t blog it ) I see that there was a prime opportunity of a play there that I just flat out missed and I just have to do a better job here.
I submit evidence A.
This is a quick cell phone picture I took last night of my watch list because I wanted to make sure that I had my list when switching from my desktop to my laptop to put the kids to sleep. Tonight when doing my scan I always look through the other things that I had on scan and yep…I left a great trade on the table (after i didn’t trade because I didn’t see any setups that I didn’t like ) in $TUP.
Now I had $TUP on my watchlist
So here’s what hte TUP intraday 1-min chart looks like I have to step back and start to ask myself why did I completely miss this. I think the answer is pretty clear to me.
The first thing is preparation. I just wasn’t as prepared as I should have been with my own ideas. I had it on scan for a reason, so why is it that I failed to bring it up the next morning. My daily routine is off and I know that this must be addressed. Similarly the same thing happened last week on $LRN where I had it on scan and didn’t follow up and the thing faded THE NEXT 3 DAYS!!!!
Grated i still did good over those days, but realistically had I stuck to my plays that I was ready for it would’ve been even better, so I have to really start to zone in on what I need to change in my routine to fix this. 2 weeks in a row I’ve left great opportunities at the altar and I need to be a faithful trader instead of cheating with all these ticker thots ( forgive me ya’ll…lolol ) that keep running around here in the skimpy pre-market charts that make you turn your head the other way. I gotta stick to good ole faithful!
I second thing that I think this points out is that Im’ not categorizing my trades well enough still. The day of plays I’m doing an ok job at it, but the ones that I have on my scan I know there’s a reason to be interested it, but not it’s time to start zoning in on the plan of attack for these different types of setups. Honestly that fade on $TUP was just toooo beautiful and offered a clean 1pt move with no stress. That’s the kind of trade that I long to be in a relationship with….not with the ones that cheat on you with the other bigger traders and decided to swipe all over the place leaving you broken and beaten on the side of the road.
Well that’s it I guess. Just a realization that even when I’m not trading there are things that you can still focus on to improve your trading and boy do I think I found a good one to focus on, which should help me zone in and improve my play selection throughout the day.
